Cole Miller Sends Message To Donald Cerrone: You Suck At Life

Cole Miller has been vocal since Donald Cerrone name dropped him as a possible first opponent when he enters the UFC following the end of the WEC and since havn't changed as Miller talks to Bloodyelbow.com about his thoughts on Cerrone as a fighter and a person:

"Cerrone is a good fighter but he sucks at life. I guess I'll be ready to give him his ass whooping after I'm done fighting Matt Wiman. I would be more than happy to take a step down in competition to fight Cerrone and I think the UFC would definitely make it happen because it makes sense. ... Some people out there are just too dumb to realize that they are not any good and I want to show Cerrone that is exactly the case. When you think about it that is probably his biggest strength and at the same time his biggest weakness because he is too dumb to realize his actual skill level. ... After this fight with Wiman I'll tack up a picture of his face on my mirror so when I get up to start my day it will get me motivated to get into the gym, training harder than ever before and as a result I will be the on a totally different level. I'll be the best fighter that I've ever been when it comes time for me to fight and kill him."

Alistair Overeem KOs Todd Duffee in 19 Seconds

by Michael David SmithAlistair Overeem has added the Dream heavyweight title to his Strikeforce and K-1 World Grand Prix championships, brutally knocking out the former UFC heavyweight Todd Duffee at the New Year's Eve Dynamite!! event in Japan.

Overeem showed once again that he's among the most lethal strikers in all of combat sports, stunning Duffee with a right hand to the ear and then finishing him with a big left hand to the chin. The fight lasted just 19 seconds.

"This year I won three world titles," Overeem said in the ring afterward. "Strikeforce, then K-1, and now Dream. And I promise you all, I'm going to keep giving you great fights."

Chris Leben's Coach Tries to Excuse The Crippler's Loss Against Brian Stann Saturday Night

("Damn, those NyQuil shooters Chuck bought me last night seemed like a good idea at the time." Photo props ESPN.)

Remember in grade school when your team would win a game of baseball at recess and without fail there was one shlub who would say that the winning run didn't count because the sun was in his eyes or the batter didn't touch second base?

Well Chris Leben's shlub is Burton Richardson, the head trainer at the Ultimate Training School in Hawaii who claims that "The Crippler" had a fever and chills and was vomiting in the locker room in the hours leading up to his UFC 125 fight with Brian Stann.

Richardson posted the following excuse explanation on mixedmartialarts.com's underground forum:

"First, great job by Brian Stann. He never looked better. Many have commented that Chris was very slow and looked off last night. The truth is that Chris was sick. He had a fever and chills when he stepped into the cage. He was vomiting in the lockeroom before the fight, and after a hard warm up he didn't have a drop of sweat. Big heart to fight like that, but he was moving slow motion. He was very sharp in training. He will be back."

UFC 125: Thiago Silva overwhelms Brandon Vera on the ground

Brandon Vera (11-6) was most effective in his fight with Thiago Silva (15-2) at UFC 125 while the fight was kept standing. Unfortunately for Vera, the fight didn’t stay standing for long. UFC NEWS: Georges St. Pierre vs. Jake Shields to headline UFC 129 in Toronto

By: Jamie Penick, MMATorch Editor-in-Chief

GSP_TB150_8.jpg

In what is anything but surprising news, UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre will defend his title on April 30 in the main event of the UFC's first ever trip to Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

The Montreal native will meet former Strikeforce Middleweight Champion Jake Shields in the headlining fight of the event at the Rogers Centre, according to UFC President Dana White, who confirmed the booking to The Canadian Press.

St. Pierre successfully defended his title yet again last month at UFC 124 in Montreal, thoroughly out-classing Josh Koscheck en route to a clean sweep on the judges' scorecards for the unanimous decision victory. The win was St. Pierre's fifth straight title defense and eighth straight win overall.

Shields enters the title fight off of a successful return to the welterweight division. After taking a three fight detour above 180 lbs., Shields made his UFC debut at UFC 121 in October, defeating Martin Kampmann by split decision to earn the shot at St. Pierre.

UFC 129 will mark the UFC's first entrance into Ontario, with the province beginning regulation of the sport this year.

Penick's Analysis: Georges St. Pierre and Randy Couture on this card will help it blow away the current attendance record, already held by a St. Pierre headlined fight. But with the UFC planning a configuration for the Rogers Centre of around 40,000+ spectators, I wouldn't be surprised to see them hit that mark in a sell-out. The UFC's first event in the hot-bed that is Toronto was always going to be big, but having the three time "Canadian Athlete of the Year" fighting in front of his home country fans and having the longtime proven draw Randy Couture in what could be his final career fight on top of this one will make for a huge event overall.
